Cast
Judy Cook has been in the LA casting scene since 1996, where she interned, got hired, and received her first screen credit on her debut feature on Gary Ross’ “Pleasantville”. She planted herself in extras casting for the next 10 years and had the luck of working with great directors like the Coen Brothers on “Intolerable Cruelty” and “The LadyKillers” (and more), Oliver Stone’s “World Trade Center”, Brett Ratner’s “Rush Hour 2″, “Red Dragon”, and “After the Sunset”, and DJ Caruso’s “Disturbia”. After having had it and been driven to madness by Michael Bay on “The Island”, she decided to start over and switch to principal casting. She trained on Dane Cook’s “Good Luck Chuck”, worked on Jada Pinkett-Smith’s directorial debut of “The Human Contract”, then got promoted to an associate on Ice Cube’s “The Longshots” and Nick Cassavetes’ “My Sister’s Keeper”.
When the threat of the SAG strike starved the industry of work in 2008, she got her first taste of independence on Guest House Films’ “Make the Yuletide Gay”. This would be her first project on her own. Working independently on independent projects is the creamy center for her. She loves the innovative people she meets and incorporates heart and soul into these personal projects. Other favored independent productions include season 6 on “Reno 911″ and the series pilot of “DJ Diaries”. Instead of work, it has become about making passion projects a part of every day life with people who are all on the same side. Now, she is blessed to have the follow-up of “Sticke Figures” with the Guest House Film’s brother production company, Proteus, where a new dream become feasible and fun.
